I've been going to it since it was first opened. Good news is that they've seem to have dramatically reduced their ticket prices recently to £5.99 anytime for anyone ...... I was paying around £10.99 for an adult off-peak ticket last year. It's a decent cinema. A few large screens but most seem to be in the small to medium range. Food & drink prices are dear and there are 20 mins of ads/trailers before the film starts but that's the case at most cinemas so I don't understand the moaning about that. They do seem to be short-staffed at least compared to the past, I guess not surprising considering market trends. I don't think I've ever been asked to show my ticket before I've entered a screen room in the past year, so it's very easy for freeloaders to cheat the system. Only major negative is the ridiculous 75p "booking fee" they charge if you book online. Surely if anything it should be cheaper booking online as it takes up less of their resources to process? I suspect it's just a ploy to get you to buy your tickets at the tills so they can sell you their overpriced food & drink.

My local cinema. I'd been there to watch an Indian regional movie Chamak(Kannada language). Pros: Good screens and great sound, comfortable seats, clean surrounding, easily accessible, very helpful staff. Cons: cinema is on 3rd n 4th floor. It takes a while to get there. And while on your way back from cinema, you've to walk down on stairs. As usual ridiculously overpriced food. Big let down is no free parking!

David Lean Cinema

Katherine St, Croydon CR9 1ET, UK – 07804 051912

A cosy screen where you can enjoy alternative films.

A quaint and old-fashioned little cinema but they show some good uncommon films.

Grants Entertainment Centre

12 Middle St, Croydon CR0 1RE, UK – 020 8688 2089

Centrally located, this is a good movie going experience. The self ticketing kiosks are a bit touch and go but you can always purchase your ticket from the sweet counter. The choice of standard seats or VIP seating is also available in all theatres. The theatres range in size but each one is very comfortable. The sound quality in each room is brilliant and the 4K picture quality is stunning.

This is a good cinema, with plenty of screens some of which are quite big. It doesn't tend to get busy apart from some nights or if a big movie is released otherwise its pleasant. The location of the cinema is quite ideal as its situated right next to the shopping centre and with transport links near by it isn't hard to arrive and leave there. It's a nice clean cinema with their being helpful and friendly.
